The Art and Poetry of

Christine D. Johnson

Videographer:

Laptop and Coffee Shop Productions

Christine D. Johnson is a South Carolina based mixed media abstract painter, poet, and author who is passionate about creating introspective art for wellness. Her paintings, book, and workshops inspire and guide others on a journey toward inner peace. Through her art, Christine reflects values such as authenticity, humility, patience, and resilience. Christine’s captivating portraits or florals have rich textures created with acrylic paint, layers of paper, markers, and found objects that are placed on canvas, wood or paper.

Born and raised in Jamaica, Christine was deeply influenced by a culture rooted in internal strength and close-knit community, despite limited material wealth. This enduring spirit is the foundation of her work that inspires others to tap into their own inner resilience.

Since 1994, Christine has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions; most recent solo exhibits include  Park Circle Gallery and Brookgreen Gardens Lowcountry Gallery. In 2024, after working in human resources for over two decades, she transitioned into being a full-time artist, fully embracing her mission to use art as a tool for cultivating inner peace. That same year, she published her coffee table art book, Art Journey to Inner Peace — a captivating collection of her paintings, poetry, photography; and it provides a pathway to inner peace. She has also recently performed her poetry at venues including the Dock Street Theatre, the Gaillard Center, Cypress Gardens and Brookgreen Gardens.

Driven by a passion for holistic health and community building, Christine created the Art Journey to Inner Peace workshops including The Shedding and a multisensory experience integrating visual art, yoga, sound healing, and aromatherapy to support personal transformation and emotional well-being.

Christine studied psychology and minored in art before earning a Master of Human Resources and Industrial Relations. Her creative philosophy is rooted in spiritual connection and trust: stay connected with God, show up, and surrender to the process.

Her artwork, book, and services are available at www.christinedjohnson.com. She actively shares her work and insights through social media:
